SaffaThreads is an independent South African community hosted on Cloudflare. We store usernames, password hashes, sessions, posts, comments, votes, memberships, saved posts and moderation reports to operate the service.
If you choose Google or Facebook sign-in, we store your provider-specific user ID to recognise your account. We may receive your email address when you permit it. Facebook email addresses must be verified through our email link before receiving reply notifications. We do not request access to your Facebook posts, friends or messages. Provider access tokens are used during sign-in and are not stored.
Optional email addresses are private. Resend processes verification, welcome and reply emails. Reply emails can be disabled in your account or through the unsubscribe link. Session cookies keep you signed in for up to 30 days. OAuth cookies expire after ten minutes.
Posts, comments and usernames are public. Email addresses, saved posts, sessions and reports are private. Cloudflare and email providers may process data outside South Africa. Do not publish sensitive personal information.
Account data is kept while your account operates unless you request deletion. You can remove your own posts. See data deletion instructions to request account deletion or access to your data. Updates to this policy will be published here.
